Churches Together – Sermon Sketchnotes

Yesterday saw the annual ecumenical pulpit exchange in churches belonging to Churches Together across the country. At Whetstone, we (very unusually) had a different speaker at each of the morning services, both talking on the day’s theme of ‘Christian Unity’.

As part of the pulpit exchange, we welcomed Rev. Chris Allen from St. Peter’s Parish Church, Whetstone to our 9am service. He used Matthew 4:12-23 as his Bible text. To hear his message, click here.

At the 10:45am service, Chris’ colleague and lay Reader, Eric Leese visited us from St Michael & All Angels, Cosby, where he worships. For his message, he chose 2 Corinthians 5:14-20. To listen to his message, click here.

Healing and Wholeness Course

We’re delighted to be welcoming Rev John Woolmer, Prebendary of Wells Cathedral, to Whetstone Baptist Church during March to May when he’ll be leading a Healing and Wholeness Course on Tuesday evenings from 7th March at 7:30pm.

The course is biblically based and inter-active. It is designed for churches and Christian groups wishing to offer healing prayer to those suffering from physical ill health, emotional issues and/or spiritual oppression. It is careful to build a foundation of sound theology and good practice.  The emphasis is on ‘equipping the saints for ministry’. Hopefully, new people will want to participate in the healing ministry and established members will feel more confident theologically and practically.

The course runs for eight sessions, and costs £25. Click on the link below to download a booking form which also has more details.
